LAST DAY!!

One last look into Alta Lakes Basin, and Silver Mountain. Oh, Silver I'll have to wait til next year to ski your picturesque lines.

What's going on down there?

Winter Encore!

As nice as the last few weeks were, (and they were nice, flipflops and shorts were great!) winter decided to give us a little more of that white powder we are all so much addicted to. It all started out with a fantastic windstorm bringing the red desert dust up to the mountains. This picture was not taken at sunset as it appears but about 4 hours before sunset. Nothing but a nice layer of dust everywhere.

After all the dust the sky turned more white and we ended up with a pretty good amount of snow for the week. I think many were ready for nice temps but the snow was definatly welcome. Here Little Wasatch enjoys some sun and a nice breeze.

A little glimpse into my new favorite secret stash. If you can identify it I'll buy you a beer and a shot!

This is one of those great lines on the mountain that doesn't really ever get skied. Everyone has probably looked at it at one time but not wanted to spend the time on that lift to actually ski it. Maybe it's not always worth it, but it's nice to ski all the good lines on the mountain at least once a season, so this was my once for the year.

And finally, Billy about to be gifted by mother nature. Dick deep powder turns for his birthday. Awesome!!

Thanks mother nature!

Thanks mother nature for giving us that dusting of snow and dropping the temps 30 degrees. I was in shorts yesterday on a bike and now i am wearing long underware today?
Phils World in Cortez is in fine shape right about now, better than the ski resort!!! The single track is dry and fun. After this TINY storm it should firm up a little!!! You can be ridin it on the reg now!!!

My view in 17 days 6 hours 52 minutes and 7 seconds. Not that i am counting! Not leaving the box canyon for months can make one go insane in the membrane! Out!

Spring In the Mountains

Thursday brought unseasonably warm teperatures. So it was time to ski some sluch and get drunk!
Snow bringer where is the snow?

Snowboarders and skiers can get along. They just have to have really beat up boots!

Pritchett and Billy stretching before the afternoons events.

The music of Porter, Batiste, Stoltz helped everyone get in the mood of summer. Tshirts were well represented as as a rememberence of heat exhaustion. (All beer and no water is tough to pull off when your not used to the heat)
Even the dogs were out enjoyng the music!

Playing in Ophir

It was a nice Saturday so Luke and I decided to take ourselves on a little hike. Well, not so little. We opted for a workout and hiked straight up instead of taking the skintrack super highway.

A glimpse into swamp canyon.

MMM, what a tasty looking playground! Great hairy lines abound, or some easier ones, take your pick.

All that slogging up the mountain and Mali runs ahead for first tracks! Powder whore! She was prolly just mad I didn't give her more of my sandwich at the top.

It's always fun to look back up. Great snow conditions for the most part. Some very interesting snow pack on some aspects. Some of the aspects had a 1.5 inch crust on top of some very, very loose grains about a foot deep. Other aspects were all powder. Fun Fun!
